89, of Galesburg, formerly of Macomb, Ill. died at 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 in Rosewood Care Center surrounded by her family.;Betty was born February 8, 1924 in Blandinsville, Ill., the daughter of Dewey E. and Reva Irene Fisher George. She married Harrison Mac Gardner in Blandinsville. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1961.;She is survived by a son, Galen (and Toni) Gardner of Knoxville, Ill., a daughter, Nita (and Rick) Cross of Galesburg, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and one grandson, Kyle Wehrly.;Betty lived in Macomb a number of years before moving to Galesburg. She was a seamstress by trade. She volunteered for the McDonough District Hospital Day Health Services in Macomb. She was a member of the Macomb American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was a member of PWP (Parents without Partners). She enjoyed square dancing with the Lamoine Valley Square Dancers.;Cremation will be accorded. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Macomb. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
