GLASFORD ~ Wanda Faye Martin, 94 of Glasford passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family and went home to her Heavenly Father at 6:46 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013.;Born March 23, 1919 in Abingdon to Edward and L. Pearl (Richardson) Stephens, she married her sweetheart Dean Raymond Martin on September 3, 1938 in Burlington, IA. They celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary in September, 2012. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2013 in Peoria. Also preceding Wanda in death are one great-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.;Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (John) Gollon of Glasford, Sonya (Pete) Thompson of Glasford, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.;She had been a devout and active member at Glasford Baptist Church for years where she served her church and Lord faithfully. She was also a member of the Glasford Homemakers Club for many years.;A homemaker, Wanda and Dean were "the perfect example of a marriage". She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching the birds at their feeder.;Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday September 12, 2013 at Glasford Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Cook will officiate. Visitation will be one hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford.
