Carolyn Lillibridge Cremeens, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Delavan on Sept. 10, 2013. Carolyn was born in Delavan Dec. 9, 1920, graduated from the Delavan schools, and taught there for several years in her early career. She was a graduate of Northwestern University, School of Speech, B.S. Honors, and received her M.A. from the University of Wisconsin, summa cum laude. Her teaching career was an extensive one including Chairman of the Speech/Drama Department in Shorewood, Wisconsin and later a member of the faculty at Seaholm High School, Birmingham, Michigan. She developed and taught Creative Drama at the Milwaukee Art Center and summer directed drama at Northwestern University. While living in England for three years she became active in the Surrey education program. Devoted to family and friends she will be remembered for her unusual rapport with teenagers—many of whom are now grandparents and who continued to visit and correspond with her. She is a member of the Delavan Presbyterian Church, the Delavan Historical Society and Chapter BV of P.E.O. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
