William "Dale" Riddle Metamora, IL William "Dale" Riddle, 83, of Metamora, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 1:15 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Snyder Village in Metamora. He was born June 20, 1930 in Peoria, IL to William Earl and Lena (Altshue) Riddle. He married Dorothy J. Stear on May 10, 1952 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Merle, Lloyd, and Robert, one sister, Mildred and one granddaughter, Cara. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Metamora, three children, Karen (Galen) Wirth of Milledgeville, IL, Wayne (Chary) Riddle of East Peoria, IL and Keith Riddle of Towanda, IL. Also surviving are four granddaughters, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Sarah and Shirley and four great-grandchildren. Dale served in the U.S. Navy and worked in Quality Assurance for Caterpillar Inc. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 974 and a member of the Howitt Street Christian Church and then West Bluff Christian Church. Dale was an avid photographer, model boat enthusiast, was a member of the Holiday Rambler's Travel club, wintered in Arizona for several years and he and his wife had traveled to all 50 states. He loved playing the Saxophone and chaperoning the senior summer band. A visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 4 to 6 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A funeral service will be on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
