Washington – Janet L. “Jan” Burris, 78, of Washington, IL died at 1:00 AM on Saturday October 19, 2013 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. She was born on January 3, 1935 in DuQuoin, IL to Stanley and Margaret Huite Sharp. She married William Parker in 1952 in Washington, IL;he preceded her in death on December 5, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents;two sons, Jackie Parker and James Parker;and two sisters, Donna Trojanski and June Plice. \\n\\nShe is survived by her two sons, Kevin (Shari) Parker and Douglas Lathrom, both of Washington;five grandchildren;Kyle (Sarah) Lathrom, Kami Lathrom, Kayla Parker, Courtney Parker and Colton Lathrom-Rekus;two great-grandchildren, Nathan Swindenhammer and Micah Lathrom;and one beloved nephew, Ted Trojanski.\\n\\nJan worked many years as a clerical worker for Caterpillar, INC and also as a receptionist for both St. Francis Medical Center and Proctor Hospital in the ICU and ER. She was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church. Jan was also one of the founding members of Sunnyland Phoenix Action Group for Alcoholics Anonymous where she dedicated many years of her life. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.\\n\\nThere will be a funeral service for Jan on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at 3 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Louie Dalton will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.\\n\\n
