PEORIA – Louise A. Bonikowski, 95, of Peoria, passed away in her children's arms at 3:57 a.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Liberty Village.;Louise was born on October 22, 1918, in Farmington to Torquato and Camilla (Baccheschi) Tiezzi. She married Leon C. “Boni” Bonikowski on August 22, 1942, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1986.;She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Anne Tiezzi, Ella West, Verna Grabinger, and Donna Tiezzi, three brothers, Guido Tiezzi, Joe Tiezzi, and Nick Tiezzi, and two nieces, Sandy Graves and Kayla Stacey.;She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Jim) Bradberry of Peoria, her son Gary Bonikowski of Chicago, five sisters, Hazel Catteau, Nina Gray, Elda Graves, Virginia Laible, and Shirley Kellerstrass, and many nieces and nephews.;She worked as a sales clerk at the downtown Bergner’s for many years, and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.;Louise loved her large family dearly. High on her list were sports of every kind, her yard and flowers, and music and singing (more often than not, off-key).;The family wishes to thank the staff at Liberty Village for the kindness and care shown to Lousie these last four years. The family is grateful to Hospice Compassus for the unending help in Louise’s last months.;Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Rev. Jeff Laible will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
