Roberta D. “Bert” Kennedy, 68 of Pontiac, IL. died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 1:14 PM at ASTA Care Center, Pontiac.;Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac with Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Pontiac. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-800 PM at the funeral home. Memorials in Bert’s name may be made to the Livingston County Relay for Life or a charity of the donor’s choice.;Bert was born on October 28, 1945 in Pontiac, IL., a daughter of Vernon and Eddith (Logsdon) Shoop. She married James E. Kennedy on March 16, 1968 in Roanoke, IL. He survives in Pontiac,. Also surviving is one son: Michael (Jodie) Kennedy of Pontiac, IL. and one daughter Jamie (Bill) Volk of Chenoa, IL.: three grandchildren: Taylor D. Volk, Madelyn K. Kennedy and Noah E. Volk and four step grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Nancy (Don) Duffy of Wilmington, IL. and Paula Chapman of Germantown Hills, IL. Bert was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Dwayne Shoop.;Bert was educated in Pontiac schools and a 1963 graduate of Pontiac Township High School. She was a real estate broker with Panno Realty for over 30 years and also served as office manager. Prior to working at Panno Realty, Bert was employed at Fellheimer Law Firm, Livingston County Clerk’s office and LeRoy’s Drive In in Pontiac. Bert loved playing golf and was a member of the Ladies Golf Associations both at Pontiac Elks Club and Wolf Creek Golf Course. She was past president of American legion Auxiliary and Livingston County Board of Realtors. Bert was also a member of the Illinois State Police Wives Club. Bert loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and loved her “Girls Night Out” for over 30 years. Bert had many friends especially Lynn DiNardi.
