PEKIN ~ Anita Murphy, 83, of Noblesville, IN, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville from Alzheimer’s. She was resident of Pekin from 1953 to 2012 when she moved to Noblesville to be near her daughter, Donita.;She was born July 12, 1930 and raised near Viola, TN, where her parents lived, farmed and passed. She was the daughter of Ralph and Bessie Thelma (McGregor) Winton. Anita married Don M. Murphy on June 30, 1949 in Mount Eagle, TN. He died February 19, 2010 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Ralph Donald Murphy on December 27, 2008 in Pekin;Surviving are one daughter, Donita Murphy of Indianapolis, IN, one grandson, Brandon Park of Normal, IL, one sister, Della Winton McKinney and two brothers, Bobby Winton and Dan Winton.;Anita will be remembered as a loving mother and housewife. She was a member and Past President of the Pekin Garden Club, active in the Red Hat Society in Pekin and a member of the Pekin Women’s Club. She loved gardening and poetry. Anita’s home was often on the Red Cross Garden Walk due to her love of Roses, Orchids and Cactus;Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
