PEORIA, Ill. -- Two hockey fans from Slovakia saved their money for three years for a 10-day trip to St. Louis to watch the Blues.
Their plans were spoiled, however, by the NHL lockout. So Martin Miksa and Daniel Zeman decided to make the best of a bad situation and hopped on a bus to Peoria this weekend to see the Rivermen play instead.
"Our friends made some jokes that we're visiting the lockout," said Miksa, "but it's part of the game. Everyone knows we are big fans and everyone was trying to support us. It's kind of a depressing thing and they feel just like we feel, that it's a bad deal."
While they're in the United States, Miksa and Zeman are also planning to attend an NFL game and an NBA game.
