BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Less than a year after changing leagues, a central Illinois professional hockey team appears to be doing it again.
On Tuesday, the United States Hockey League approved a proposal to adopt the Bloomington Thunder.
The Thunder and Rivermen both moved to the Southern Professional Hockey League last May, creating a rivalry between the teams for the first time.
The Thunder would still play their games at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The deal is pending final approval from the USHL.
