ISU Guard Seeking Votes

Illinois State senior guard Tyler Brown won his way into the "Final Four" of the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Competition, after edging "Elite 8" competitor Ra'Shad James of Northwood Monday. Fans must now cast their daily votes to help Brown win his way into the contest's championship round, with voting ending next Monday, March 11, at noon CST.

Fans are allowed to vote once per day by visiting the competition's official Facebook page: facebook.com/CollegeSlam. The winner of the entire contest will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Atlanta, April 4 at 6 p.m. CST, on ESPN. Brown is now facing Stephen F. Austin's Hal Bateman. Even if fans already voted Monday morning during the "Elite 8" round, they are allowed to vote again Monday afternoon.

Sixteen dunkers from across the country were initially selected to compete in the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Facebook bracket, which is a five-week knockout competition. Brown is one of four dunkers still remaining in the contest. While he might be known first for his three-point shooting and defense, Brown's dunking abilities are equally impressive. In his submission video, Brown bounces an alley-oop to himself and finishes with a 360-degree dunk.

Two years in a row, the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker moved on to win the entire Denny's Slam Dunk Competition. Last year, James Justice from Martin Methodist College won the 16-player Dark Horse Dunker bracket before winning in New Orleans, while Jacob Tucker of Illinois College was named the 2011 champion. Both dunkers are now members of the Harlem Globetrotters.
