Bradley Basketball Non-Conference Schedule
Back-to-Back Games at Illinois, Arizona State Highlight Non-Conference Slate

PEORIA, Ill. – Consecutive games against Illinois and Arizona State, as well as a return trip to Las Vegas for multiple games and 16 regular-season home games highlight the still-evolving 2013-14 Bradley men’s basketball schedule.

For the eighth consecutive year Bradley will play in an exempted, multi-team event and the 2013-14 version will begin with three home games before concluding Nov. 17 at the re-named State Farm Center in Champaign, where the Braves will take on Illinois.

The opening slate will have Bradley playing its first four games at home, as well as five games in a 10-day period to start the season. As recently as 2005--06, Bradley’s season did not begin until Nov. 19.

As part of the MTE, Bradley will host Alabama State Nov. 8 in the earliest season-opener in program history. In between MTE home games versus Jacksonville State (Nov. 10) and Chicago State (Nov. 15), Bradley also will host Central Michigan Nov. 12. The Braves earned an 82-65 win Nov. 28, 2012 at Central Michigan, giving the road teams a 3-0 record in the all-time series.

After the game at Illinois, Bradley will head west to take on Arizona State Nov. 22. The Sun Devils joined Bradley on the list of most-improved teams in the country last season and concluded a 22-13 campaign in 2012-13 with a second-round game in the National Invitation Tournament. The Braves are 1-1 all-time against Arizona State, splitting a 2-year, home-and-home series in 1963-64 and 1964-65 and Bradley will be playing on a Pac-12 Conference court for the first time since a 107-92 loss at #23 USC Nov. 18, 2000.

Bradley will wrap up the November portion of the schedule Nov. 30 with a home game against Texas-Pan American, then will host IUPUI Dec. 4 before visiting Milwaukee Dec. 7

For the second year in a row, and the third time in five years, Bradley will play multiple games in Las Vegas when the Braves visit the South Point Arena for games Dec. 20 versus Portland and Dec. 21 against Pacific. The non-conference finale will be Dec. 28 when the Braves host South Florida, which is transitioning from the Big East Conference to the BCS football league American Athletic Conference.

Bradley’s 2013-14 schedule also will include one home game that has yet to be determined, as well as a pair of preseason exhibition games against non-Division I compeitition. Game times and locations (Carver Arena or Renaissance Coliseum) will be announced later this summer.

With Loyola University Chicago replacing Creighton in the Missouri Valley Conference, Bradley will continue to play an 18-game, double round-robin league schedule that will include nine home games at Carver Arena and nine road games. The 2014 MVC Men’s Basketball Championship will be contested March 6-9 at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

Regardless of location, all 18 preseason and regular-season games will be included in a complete season-ticket package at the Courtside, Platinum, Gold and Silver levels. At least 15 games will be played at Carver Arena and Bronze-level season-ticket buyers may select one of the remaining Renaissance Coliseum games to be included in the season-ticket package. Any available seats for Renaissance Coliseum games may be purchased by season-ticket holders in all levels at a reduced price during an exclusive purchasing period.

Led by rising seniors Walt Lemon, Jr. and Tyshon Pickett, the team’s top scorer and rebounder, respectively, Bradley returns seven lettermen from a squad that enjoyed one of the best turnarounds in the nation last year. The Braves made an 11-win improvement to 18-17 overall and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
