The annual Bradley Athletic Benefit will be combined with the men’s and women’s basketball team Red-White Scrimmage Oct. 18, giving fans the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Bradley’s athletic facilities while mingling with the student-athletes and coaches.
Dinner will be served on Mitchell “JJ” Anderson Court in the Basketball Performance Center from 5-7 p.m. and the student-athletes and coaches from both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will spend much of the 2-hour dinner block mingling with the fans. In addition to a spaghetti-and-meatballs dinner, merchandise will be available for purchase, raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the program and 2011-12 schedule posters will be available.
Head coaches Paula Buscher and Geno Ford will address the crowd inside Renaissance Coliseum as part of the Red-White Scrimmage program.
Tickets for the two events will be sold separately, but may be purchased in advance at the Renaissance Coliseum Box Office or through Bradley University Business Manager Ken Goldin’s office in Williams Hall (677-3000) beginning Sept. 6. The Athletic Benefit dinner ticket will be $10 for adults and $5 for children (12 and under). All tickets for the Red-White Scrimmage will be $5 for the general public and free for Bradley University students, faculty and staff, all presenting valid University ID.
The Athletic Benefit/Red-White Scrimmage will tip off the annual Bradley Basketball fall schedule of activities. The Braves Club Bids-for-the-Braves Auction will quickly follow Oct. 22 at the Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria. In addition, the Bradley men’s basketball team will host a pair of exhibition games: Nov. 1 versus Wisconsin-Parkside at Renaissance Coliseum and Nov. 8 versus College of Wooster Nov. 8 at Carver Arena. The Bradley women’s basketball team will host NCAA Division III Washington (Mo.) in an exhibition game Nov. 5 at Renaissance Coliseum.
