The Illinois State Redbirds saw a 12 point halftime lead evaporate against Ole Miss, but forced overtime in a 96-93 NIT First Round win. The Redbirds were deadly accurate from three-point range against the Rebels, making 17 of 23 shots behind the arc (73.9%).
Tyler Brown led the Redbirds in scoring with a game high 26 points, going 8-9 from 3-point range. Freshman guard Nic Moore scored 24 points off the bench for ISU, making all 6 of his 3-point attempts. Jon Ekey had 15 points. Jackie Carmichael added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Redbirds improve to 21-13 on the season with the win. They will play their second round NIT game at Stanford on Monday at 10:30 p.m. Central time.
