You might not think of Tremont as a cradle of offense, but Marc Strauss reports the Turks have a couple of twin threats.

There must be something in the water in Tremont. Both of the school's varsity basketball teams boast the leading scorers in the Heart of Illinois Conference - Jeremy Pflederer for the boys and Erica Miller for the girls.

Coach Michelle Williams said, "It says a lot for what's happening here in Tremont. It's kind of a small town, quiet. It shows the work ethic."

Miller's good because, according to her, she's a perfectionist. And because...

Erica Miller is averaging 19.6 points per game said, "I feel like I have quite a bit of pressure on me. I know that I need to be the leader on my team. I know that I need to have a good game if the rest of my teammates are going to play as well. I just feel I have to step up."

Erica's just as determined off the floor. She's number-one in her class, scored a 32 on her ACT and she's already completed a semester of college.

"I know she has 18 college credits leaving high school. That's significant. She'll be coming in as a second semester freshman."

"I really enjoy math. I like having set answers."

She's a straight-A student and a student of the game.
