Bloomington's new hockey entry in the Central Hockey League will be known as the Bloomington Blaze, it was announced Wednesday.
The franchise, formerly known as the Prairie Thunder, is keeping Jason Christie as its head coach. Christie was the CHL Coach of the Year last season.
Christie won 217 games as head coach of the Peoria Rivermen from 2000-01 to 2004-05. As a Rivermen Player, Christie was a member of the 1999-2000 Kelly Cup Champions.
