Pekin native D.A. Points earned his first PGA win Sunday at Pebble Beach, California.
Points shot a final round 5-under par 67 holding off Hunter Mahan who finished second, 2 shots back.
The turning point came on 14 where Points holed out for eagle. That moved him from one shot behind leader Stave Marino into a one shot lead.
Then Points birdied 15 for a 2-shot cushion that he never relinquished.
The win is Points first in 128 PGA starts. His highest previous finish on the PGA Tour was third in 2009. Points' victory at Pebble Beach earned him $1,134,000.
