BARTONVILL, Ill. -- Henry Wiles made history on Sunday.
The 27 year-old from Winn, Michigan, registered one more win at the Peoria TT Grand National to break the record eight straight he shared with the legendary Chris Carr.
It may have been Wiles most impressive win in Peoria His engine failed in his heat race forcing him to start from the last row in a last-chance qualifier.
He won that race to advance to the final, where he won again after starting in the third row.
The victory was Wiles' 9th straight Peoria TT championship.
"It was just an amazing feeling to come to the Peoria TT and win a record-breaking ninth time from the third row," said Wiles. "There's been one other guy that's won this from the third row and he's a world champion."
