Another downtown hotel could get some help from the city with its renovations.
Staybridge Suites plans to begin a two-million dollar renovation project in October.
Tuesday night Peoria city council members will hold a hearing on expanding it's hospitality improvement zone to include Staybridge Suites.
The hotel would qualify for tax breaks as a result of the redevelopment investment set to begin.
"We want to attract more guests. As you know there's been additional hotels built in the area, therefore we have to be competitive in the area to attract the guests and keep our occupancy at a high level," said Ed Croom, President of Janko Hospitality LLC, the company which manages the hotel.
Ed Croom says they would like to begin renovations in mid October.
