A local service man returning home from Afghanistan received a warm welcoming today.

Family and Friends welcomed back Senior Airman Tyler Johnson to Washington.

The Patriot Guard Riders and Washington Fire Fighters also joined the reception.

While serving in the U-S Airforce, Johnson received two purple hearts and has been nominated for the Bronze star for his actions in a search and rescue mission.

Senior Airman Johnson says "It is an honor to be nominated for the Bronze Star with other guys who have done good things for our country, and our crew doesn't get much publicity or acknowledgement so I accept it as not only mine but for my brothers in the army as a job well done."

Senior Airman Johnson will return to Afghanistan in two weeks to finish his 12 month tour there.
