Peoria authorities continue to investigate circumstances surrounding a fire that left four people injured early Thursday morning.
Police and fire officials say the fire, which occurred just before 5 a.m. in Peoria's Village Green apartment complex, is now being investigated as an arson.
When they arrived on the scene Thursday, firefighters say the front door of Apartment 120 was engulfed in flames.
Four adults and two children were trapped inside the second floor unit.
To escape, they tossed a mattress out a back window and jumped.
Two women suffered broken legs and other injuries in the fall.
A spokesman from the Peoria Fire Department says they are working with police to identify suspects.
