An East Peoria business is granting the Children's Dyslexia Center of East Central Illinois with a 10 thousand dollar technology package.

The grant is through the Heart Technologies' 2011 Great Heart Give competition. The Dyslexia Center provides high quality multi-sensory reading and written language tutorial services free of charge.

"We are going to be able to upgrade what we do for our kids with technology, in the learning centers for educational purposes. Besides serving children we also train and certify tutors in a nationally accredited program..and those tutors take what they know outside of this building into their classrooms and private practice. And so we're going to be able to make big improvements to the training that we do." said Director, Gina Cooke.

The Children's Dyslexia Center's current technology budget is only 250 dollars a year.
