The campaign to keep Peoria clean is being kicked up a notch in 2011.

The city's 'litter-czar' Diana Hall is scheduled to make a presentation about new efforts to promote cleanliness and recycling.

Hall says litter is a big problem in Peoria.

She hopes to make the campaign against it a community-effort.

She adds - that starts with getting our youngest citizens on board.

"The strategy is to take programs into the schools, get more of our children involved with litter issues. What we can do to publicize it, how we can raise money to help with it, whatever we can do to generate some excitement," Hall.

If you'd like to help out in the fight against litter, Hall is planning an open forum on Saturday, January-22nd, from 9am-11am at City Hall.
