EAST PEORIA, Ill -- The East Peoria City Council will vote tonight on whether to tentatively approve plans for Target after hearing a presentation from developer Cullinan Properties.

A vote on Costco is weeks away.

Mayor Dave Mingus says Target will be built near the new Camp Street bridge, a retail area which already includes Lowe's, Walmart and the newly open Bass Pro Shops.

He says the city has been working on both deals since the East Peoria downtown redevelopment project began a year ago.

The city already released plans to build a $20 million Holiday Inn and Suites and 15 million dollar Morton Community Bank project and new library in 2012.
