Former YWCA building going to auction

PEORIA, Ill -- We could find out in the near future if there are new owners for the former YWCA building at Lakeview in Peoria.

Chicago-based real estate auction firm Rick Levin and Associates held an open house at the facility Thursday.

The 52,000 square foot building has a large gym, theraputic swimming, classrooms and other amenities. 

A spokesperson for the real estate company says there has been some interest in the property from local parties and outside people as well.  An auction is scheduled for June 26 beginning at noon.  Both live and online bidding will be available.

Interested bidders must bring a $100,000 cashier's check before they can participate.

Bids will start at around $1.4 million.
