Local law enforcement agencies are teaming up to offer a free lunch this Friday.

Texas Road House locations, including the one in East Peoria, will offer a meal of pulled pork sandwiches this Friday.

While the restaurant is providing the meal for free, you will be asked to make a donation to benefit the Special Olympics.

Illinois State Trooper Dustin Pierce says 100 percent of the money donated will go to help the athletes.

"In other states, they have done this fundraiser with Texas Roadhouse and they've raised somewhere in between $5,000 and $10,000," said Pierce. "That is outstanding and we hope we have a good turnout and everyone comes out and provides donations to the special olympics."

There are 25,000 Special Olympic athletes in the state of Illinois.

The free lunch runs from 11 am to 2 pm on Friday.
