A PEKIN BUSINESSMAN WANTS TO BE MAYOR.

49-YEAR OLD STEVE BROWN ANNOUNCED HE'S RUNNING AS A "WRITE-IN" CANDIDATE FOR PEKIN'S TOP POST.

BROWN IS GENERAL MANAGER OF THE AVANTI'S DOME AND IS THE CITY'S FORMER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR.

BROWN SAYS THE JOB AS MAYOR IS SOMETHING HE'S THOUGHT ABOUT SEEKING FOR THE LAST TWENTY YEARS.

BORN AND RAISED IN PEKIN, BROWN IS MARRIED WITH THREE GROWN CHILDREN.

BROWN IS VYING FOR THE SPOT BEING VACATED BY RUSTY DUNN.

PEKIN CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS LAURIE BARRA AND TOM BLANCHARD ARE ALSO RUNNING.
