It's the 27th annual M-E 72 Engineering Design Contest... which doesn't
sound very sexy.
It's not really.
Six teams of mechanical engineering students are going head to head.
Like other sports, the robots these teams designed don't just score, they also have to play defense.
Many teams like Cal Tech's "Cal-techies" had to make their robot, mostly by fabricating all the pieces by hand.
And this sport, like the other traditional one brings out the fans.
World-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking was among the spectators.
In the end, after a three hours of frenzied robotic warfare, it was team Robotics Anonymous that came out on top.
