METROPOLIS, IL -- For 34 years, the southern Illinois community has been holding it's annual Superman Celebration.

Metropolis --which has 65-hundred residents normally--swells over this weekend, as tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the celebration.

Which includes movies and music, along with appearances by John Glover and Cassidy Freeman from the Superman television series "Smallville."

Metropolis got permission from DC Comics in 1972 to use the Superman logo..and have been putting it to good use ever since.

And, if you get tired of getting autographs, going to films, seminars, the costume contest or the weightlifting competition, there's always Superman's favorit foods, elephant ears and corn dogs.

The celebration goes on through Sunday.
