This would seem to be a no-brainer: a race between a man and a car. Of course, "no-brainers" are sometimes referred to as "sucker bets".
An athlete in Latvia got the idea from the BBC TV show "Top Gear". That athlete proved yesterday that a man can be faster than a car.
Gatis Zalitis saw a rugby player tried to outrun a vintage Aston Nartin on TV. The rugby player lost that race, but Zalitis had a trick up his sleeve.
The 50 meter race involved a turn around. Zalitis just had to turn on his heels and keep going, while the driver of the Nissan had to drop into reverse .
But it was a different story in his second race against an an automatic 140 horsepower Volkswagen Passat. So in the challenge of man vs car- it was a split.
