Some Russian pilots are being praised for the skills... at the same time, Russian officials want to know why those skills were needed.

U-Tube gets the credit for bringing the whole episode to light.

This amateur video captured a defence ministry passanger jet lurching terrifyingly out of control in skies close to Moscow.

The plane is seen swinging from side to side and up and down as it flys around the airfield.

Russian military prosecutors launched an investigation today--trying to determine why the plane's control system was malfunctioning.

The Tu-154 plane, dating back to the 1960s, reportedly had been mothballed some six to ten years ago, and was supposed to be relocated for repairs, so it was decided to test the plane in the air.

Instead of flying, however, the plane started whirling and dancing.

The pilots managed to land the plane on a second attempt.
