Competitors went toe-to-toe at an unusual wrestling championship in England over the weekend.

No really, toe to toe.

This year's world toe wrestling championships were held in Derbyshire, England.

The sport began in 1976 when regulars at the ye olde Royal Oak Inn wanted a new game... in their own words... that the British could win. Locals have been dominating the sport ever since.

Toe wrestling is a bit like arm wrestling but - as you can guess - with feet.

The contestants start by locking right toes, then left, then right again.

This year's winner, Paul beech predicted another win next year… even if he had to break someone's ankle."
