Manual student injured in afternoon shooting

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria Police are investigating a shooting that left a Manual High School student injured.

Authorities said the victim, a 17-year-old male, was walking away from manual with another person around 3 p.m. when he was shot in the leg.

Officers located the victim in the 2300 block of Proctor and transported him to a local hospital.

There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Peoria Police or Crimestoppers at 673-9000.
