Mathletes compete for exponential recognition

PEORIA, Ill -- Grab your protractors and calculators, it's time for some arithmetic. Or it was for more than 100 area middle schoolers at Bradley University today.

This afternoon marked the sectional round of "Mathcounts," a national competition that tests students' algebra and geometry skills. Coordinators stressed the importance of math for students to succeed later in life.
