Midwest food bank uses soy products in three receipes like this chicken rice dish.
Those dishes are among the thousands of food items given to local food pantries each month for distribution.
Today the community foundation of central illinois presented midwest food bank with a check for over fifty five hundred dollars to help with development of the soy products.
Midwest Food Bank executive director Larry Herman says the money will help get more soy products made.

"If we can get more servings of this and less serving of proct that is damaging to somebody's health then that's a win win for our community, a win win for the food bank," Herman said.

The University of Illinois is developing more soy recipes for the agency.
