A true piece of automotive history just arrived in California, after a 6,000 mile journey from Europe.

That was the Brooke Swan Car, one of the most original and quirky cars you'll ever see.

It was commissioned by a wealthy Scotsman living in India, and was built in the early part of the 20th century. The wood body is intricately carved to resemble a swan.

The eyes that glow amber and the beaks open and spits water, and there are some other fascinating characteristics you won't find on any other car.

"The swan, like all good swans, occasionally has to go to the bathroom and there's a little orifice at the bottom here, where upon demand, by pulling the lever, it will deposit some whitewash on the road behind it. Obviously Mr. Matheson had a great sense of humor," said Martin Button of Cosdel International Transport.

The swan car has been in a museum in the Netherlands. It goes on display this weekend in Pebble Beach, California.
