In a tiny village in Southern Spain, locals were part of an odd, but visually stunning tradition.
It happens on the eve of the Feast of Saint Anthony.
About 20 fires are started throughout the village and jockeys ride their horses as close to the flames as they dare.
Some 120 horses take part of the annual event.
Riders have been known to fall off .... or thrown off their horses.
There were no reports of injuries at this year's event.
It is believed the tradition dates back 500 years and apparently started with the idea the smoke would cleanse the horses of disease.
