SANTA FE, NM -- Mr. Meow is currently in a New Mexico shelter and on a serious diet.
Animal Humane of Santa Fe, New Mexico is trying to adopt out Mr. Meow, the 39-pound cat that was recently surrendered by its owner.
The elderly owner had fed Mr. Meow all the wrong things, treats and hot-dogs; morning, noon and night.
Now, Mr. Meow is a waddling lesson on the results of a junk-food diet.
He's too big to fit on the cat scale, and is now on an exercise program.
The benefit to his size --if any--is the publicity the animal shelter has been getting.. Mr. Meow made his first national TV appearance on the Today Show Tuesday morning.
