PORTLAND, Maine. -- Welcome to Hadlock field and did you bring your shovel?
In just about two weeks, it will be opening day for the Red Sox affiliates the Portland, Maine "Sea Dogs".
Some may be wondering if baseball spikes are compatible with snowshoes.
Crews are working frantically to remove about 8-inches of snow from the field.
So why not just bring in a giant snow blower and make it a littler easier? Well because the Sea Dogs just spent $6 million on new turf and want to keep it that way.
In Maine, late snow is not unknown. One year the Sea Dogs brought in a helicopter to help dry the field.
Game one is April 3. At least they don't have to worry about planting palm trees.
