When I first heard read about the egg recalls, I saw that they did not mention the state of Illinois, so I assumed my eggs were okay. After talking with my sister yesterday, I decided to check the cartons today, Monday, August 23. I had previously purchased three cartons (Sunny Meadows) from the Pekin Walmart store. One carton had the recalled ID numbers on it. I called the Pekin store and asked them what I should do with it. They told me to bring it to the customer service desk and they would give me my money back. They didn't say anything else about the fact that I had a carton from the recall list and that Illinois was not previously mentioned as a possible state with any bad eggs. It was a good thing I checked the cartons, because one of the cartons I had bought for a young friend who is 9 months pregnant. Had she eaten any of the eggs and gotten sick, it could have been very serious medically for her and/or her unborn baby (my son-to-be grandson).

I also returned recalled eggs to Walmart (Washington) despite their insistence that they had no recalled eggs. I even tried to show them the list and was treated pretty rudely. One would think a manager would want to know this important information!
