Feeling the heart Beat of a Humming Bird

Humming Bird Hearts Beats Very Fast

Sunday Aug 22nd, 2010, Starved Rock had "Adopt a humming Bird" Day. They live trapped the hummers in a cage, when one was at the feeder in the cage; a remote was used to safely close the door. Then the hummer was removed carefully and a Leg Band with a number applied to one leg. We all were allowed to have the hummer’s tummy placed on one of our fingers to feel the normally rapped heart beat. The Bird seemed Relaxed. The Person who adopted that bird was allowed to hold and release the bird. It was a great Event; I highly recommend it next year. Peoria Forest Park Nature Center also hosted such an event Sunday.
