Starting Kindergarten is such a big milestone for children. My Isabelle has been asking to go for at least 2 years! When August finally came, she was so excited! She modeled first day clothes in the dressing room, picked matching shoes, and even the perfect hair tie. She had the whole ensemble laying out for days beforehand. You'll notice on one of the pictures, she fell and skinned both knees the day before. She insisted on going and buying pink bandaids to match her outfit! As we were walking to the building that first day, she shook her hand free of mine and said, "mommy, I really don't need to hold your hand anymore". Right then and there, I lost it, and the tears came. I am a teacher myself, and it took quite awhile before I was composed enough to walk away from my sweetheart and go to my own building. After school, when she saw me, she came running with excitement to tell me about her "awesome" day. As we walked to the van, she grabbed my hand. Isabelle will learn, she will keep growing, but she will ALWAYS be my baby!
