My friend & I went to the ramp of 474 & Rt 29 this afternoon to show our respect for LCPL RJ Newton of Creve Coeur, IL. Creve Coeur was lined in flags. So many people pulled over on the side of the road. Some with flags, some with just their hands over their hearts. The Patriot Riders led the procession & it was very overwhelming. The hearse passed under a very large flag draped by the EP Fire Dept. over the 474 Overpass. We then went down to Dieter's Funeral Home in EP and another overwhelming sight of the phenomenal turnout of supporters to show respect and show sympathy for LCPL Newton & his family. A 21 year old fought for his country & died for his country. Very thankful, proud, and profoundly sad today. Welcome home LCPL Newton, may you rest in peace & know that we appreciate your service & are saddened by your death.
