U.S. Cellular Opens 4th Store In Peoria

State Rep. Jehan Gordon (D-IL) and the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce joined U.S. Cellular today to celebrate the ribbon cutting of its new full-service store at 4221 N. Sterling Ave. The store is U.S. Cellular’s fourth in Peoria.

“U.S. Cellular is a valuable partner and supporter of our business community,” said Chamber Vice President Terry Best. “We wish them the absolute best with this new store.”

By opening this store, U.S. Cellular created 10 jobs with great benefits including a generous health insurance package and full tuition reimbursement. The Chicago-based wireless company now employs more than 40 associates in Peoria and 4,100 throughout Illinois.

U.S. Cellular utilized a vacant building and remodeled and expanded it to increase space for its customers and associates. The added space allows the store to feature five consulting stations, live wireless phone demonstration stations, a repair center, and an interactive display for customers to try live data applications, mobile music, GPS services and ringtones.

“At U.S. Cellular, our focus is always on the customer,” said Cheryl Church, director of sales for U.S. Cellular. “This location was designed to make shopping an easy and enjoyable experience, and allow our associates to provide the outstanding services our customers deserve.”

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The repair center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“I’m pleased to see U.S. Cellular continuing to grow its business and creating viable new jobs in our community,” said Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis.

During the Sept. 1 to Sept. 5 grand opening, U.S. Cellular customers can visit the store and receive free voice activation and 25 percent off all accessories.
