It was not staged. It was taped. Huston had done this every time they had met in public and the recorder knew it would happen again. And as said above all dealings with Sheriff Huston that dont go exactly his way become very unfriendly.

It undeniably was staged, Anonymous -- Davis had already tried to shake Huston's hand and been rejected, hence the ostentatious show for the camera. And no, there are times when you decline to shake hands -- this election ended up being unfriendly.

As for the comment above from Jim, if Davis has done so wrong in this campaign, then you think Houston would of been the bigger man and shook hands.

If you think this is a stunt ... your just plan stupid! If a man offers to shake your hand in a freindly debate .... YOU DO IT!!!

Sheriff Huston uses integrity in his slogan on all his campaign signs. There is no integrity in this behavior! He has plenty of leadership experience but there seems to be a lot of question to the quality of his leadership. Voters will decide today!

Stunt? You mean Houston was in on this by playing along and acting childish for the camera? Wow :)

AS USUAL THESE STUNTS ARE DESIGNED TO ANNOY THE VOTERS RIGHT BEFORE THE ELECTION- FACT IS DAVIS HAS NO MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE ANYWHERE AND NOW WANTA A RETIREMENT JOB.

Wow! Houston's narcissistic behavior is showing as the masks finally come off. His contempt for working people (especially union people) was very clear at that debate. It's always somebody else's fault! Never his own.

The people who know Huston find this behavior normal. Huston holds grudges against anyone who crosses him. This childish behavior has cost the citizens of Tazewell County thousands of dollars and ruined a good agency.

Although I am a Republican, I cannot vote for Bob Huston. Ron Davis has my support.

After the nearly yearlong slander campaign Davis supporters have carried on against Huston, I can't blame him for refusing to shake Davis' hand. And yes, this was another of Davis' stunts. Would Davis run his office like he's run his campaign?

disrespect!

I was at this event. The only sneering was from a select few on the side of Davis who remembered this was staged publicity stunt and were suppose to jeer. The only problem is that most forgot or werent even really paying attention to this guy.
