I was trying to capture the late afternoon shadows (photo 2) from the river birch trees, when our dog, Willie, went bounding out to one of them, as if there was an animal perched in it. Upon closer inspection, however, the scary object turned out just to be a clump of mud/grass. We are looking into getting him fitted for glasses!
