Don't let this happen to you.

This was in our house at 1:00 a.m. or so this morning. The coyote jumped our fence and came in the dog door. The snow was high enough for it to get over it on our deck. One of my 4 dogs started barking and woke us up. Didn't see anything so we went back to bed. Then one of my other dogs came in the living room and started raising holy heck. Got up and saw something by the dog door. Turned on lights and my husband said it was a coyote. I said, WHAT??? It was behind a recliner right by the dog door. My husband got a long broom handle and tried to coax it out. It got in behind my computer then back behind the chair. FINALLY got it out the dog door and it jumped the fence. Larry opened the window and shot it. Darah, our granddaughter was in the other bedroom. I told her to stay in there and keep the door SHUT. Luckily I got the 4 dogs and cat closed in my bedroom.

I know you probably can't air the picture but just thought you might want to pass this on. It was a wake-up call for us.

To Paddie9999. It was up against the house fence. It could have come back in. I have 4 dogs and didn't want a fight and the coyote was sick. Very maingie and could have been rabid or could have been carrying who knows what. We just didn't know.

Maggie, if you look back in the archievs, someone posted about another coyote issue in the city of Peoria..Not sure where you located. But there animal control laughed at the "issue"

Because when animal starts to encroach upon human territory, they are no longer considered wild. They are considered to be nuisance animals outside of there habitat.

If it got back outside, why shoot it?
