The Peoria Park District hosted the 2011 Hershey Track & Field Meet on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Peoria Stadium.

Boys and girls, ages 9-14, had the chance to compete in the nation’s largest youth track and field program sponsored by the Hershey Corporation, Peoria Park District, and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. Events included the 50, 100, 200 and 400 meter dash, 800 and 1600 meter run, 4x100-meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw.

Winners from the Peoria event advance to the statewide meet to compete for a trip to the North American Final in Hershey, Pennsylvania, held in August.
