It's that time of year that the eagles are in the Peoria area along the Illinois River. Eagles eat mainly fish so the barges along the Illinois help break up the ice which helps fish eating birds. Look for the eagles around here to be mating soon. They nest in Feb.or early April within 8 feet of where they feed. It's always fun watching the activities in an eagles nest -- beware there are Federal laws as to how close you can get to a nest.
