Red-bellied Woodpecker

Spring Visitor

A red-bellied (not to be confused with the red headed or the red crested) woodpecker came visiting my backyard on Sunday March 18th. Obviously enjoying the warm weather and searching the Oak trees for insects, he was not bothered or upset by my working in the yard and continued his distinctive callings for almost a half hour before moving on.
